High Hopes

18x24 Oil on Panel

For me this piece represents the accumulation of things in my life, cars and payments, houses and mortgages, relationships and resentments, my baggage. I am coming to realize I have a choice in what I do with the baggage I accumulate...I can keep it, carry it, feed it, water it, watch it turn into something overwhelming, I can open it, analyze it, throw it out, or choose to nurture it.
With my relationships I am choosing to keep and nurture the ones I value. A few strong ones are better than many thin one's. I am choosing to work on relationships with my wife, my daughters, my family and myself. I am choosing to let go of resentments as quickly as I can. Today, I am carrying the baggage I choose to...the baggage I love.

  1. I love your soul. Just in case I have never told you that.
